Subscription & Recurring-Billing Stores

We build stores that sell subscriptions, curated boxes, and memberships on recurring billing — with the retention tools, customer portal, and dunning logic that keep the revenue from quietly leaking away.

Recurring billing done right

Selling a subscription is easy; keeping it billing cleanly for a year is the hard part. Cards expire, payments fail, customers want to skip a month or swap flavors, and every one of those moments is a place you either keep the revenue or lose it.

We build the full recurring engine — plans, trials, prepaid terms, and the automated recovery that catches failed payments before they become cancellations.

  • Flexible plans: monthly, annual, prepaid, and 'subscribe & save' on physical products
  • Automatic card-updater and dunning (smart retries + reminder emails) to recover failed charges
  • Free trials, intro pricing, and gift subscriptions
  • Proration and clean upgrade/downgrade between tiers
  • Pause, skip, and reschedule instead of a hard cancel

The customer self-service portal

Nothing drives cancellations like having to email you to make a change. A good subscription store gives customers a portal where they manage their own plan — which also cuts your support load dramatically.

We build that portal so members can update payment, change frequency, swap products, and skip a delivery on their own.

  • Self-serve payment, address, and frequency changes
  • Swap products or box contents between billing cycles
  • Skip, pause, or reschedule an upcoming order
  • Cancellation flows with save offers (pause, discount, downsize) done honestly, not with dark patterns
  • Member-only pricing, content, or perks tied to an active subscription

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a subscription app and building it custom?

For most Shopify and WooCommerce stores, a proven subscription app is the right call — it's battle-tested on billing edge cases you don't want to discover in production. We usually configure and extend one of those rather than reinvent billing. Fully custom makes sense only for unusual models (complex usage-based pricing, multi-party payouts). We'll recommend the cheaper path when it fits.

How do you reduce subscription churn?

The biggest lever is involuntary churn — payments that simply fail. Good dunning and a card-updater recover a real share of those automatically. Beyond that, easy skip/pause options, a clear portal, and honest save-offers keep people who were about to cancel over a temporary reason. We can't promise a churn number, but these are the levers that actually move it.

Can customers subscribe to some products and buy others one-time?

Yes. We can set up 'subscribe and save' alongside normal one-time checkout, so a customer can put a recurring item and a one-off item in the same cart. The billing engine keeps the recurring line item on schedule while the rest checks out normally.
