Automated Website Backups

Scheduled, offsite backups of your files and database — running automatically and proven by test restores — so a bad update, a hack, or a host failure never means starting your site over.

Backups that actually restore

Plenty of sites have "backups" that turn out to be empty, corrupted, or stored on the same server that just died. A backup only counts if you can bring the site back from it.

We schedule backups of both your files and your database, store copies off your server, and periodically run a test restore to confirm the files are complete and usable — not just that a backup job ran.

  • Files and database captured together so the restore is consistent
  • Copies stored offsite, separate from your hosting account
  • Automatic schedule — daily, or more often for active sites — with nothing to remember
  • Retention history so you can roll back to last week, not just last night
  • Periodic test restores that prove the backups actually work
  • Restore on demand when an update breaks something or content is lost

How often and how far back

The right schedule depends on how often your site changes. A brochure site that updates monthly doesn't need hourly backups; a busy store taking orders does.

We match frequency and retention to your risk, so you're not paying for storage you don't need or losing data you can't afford to lose.

  • Frequency matched to how often your content and data actually change
  • Longer retention for sites where a problem might not surface for weeks
  • Off-peak scheduling so backups don't slow the live site
  • A fresh backup taken before we apply any plugin, theme, or core update

What it costs

Backup service is usually a small recurring fee. The main drivers are how large your site is, how often you back up, and how long you keep history — a large media library or a database-heavy store costs more to store than a simple site.

We'll look at your actual site and quote a real monthly number in a free consultation instead of guessing here.

  • Priced as a recurring monthly service, not a one-time task
  • Site size — media, uploads, database — is the biggest cost driver
  • Backup frequency and retention length move the price
  • Often bundled into a broader care plan with updates and monitoring

Frequently asked questions

Doesn't my host already back up my site?

Many hosts keep backups for their own disaster recovery, not yours — they can be infrequent, hard to access, only cover part of the account, or vanish if your account is suspended. An independent, offsite backup you control means you're never dependent on the host's timeline or goodwill to get your site back.

How fast can you restore after something goes wrong?

For most sites a restore takes minutes to a couple of hours once we pick the right restore point. Bigger sites and databases take longer to copy back. Because we test restores in advance, we're not discovering problems for the first time during an emergency.

Can I keep my backups if I ever leave?

Yes. Your backups are your data. We can hand off copies and document where they live, so you're never locked in.
