What if the previous developer is gone and left no documentation?
That's a common situation and we're set up for it. We reconstruct how the system works by reading the code and database directly. It takes some upfront time to map an undocumented project, and we're transparent about that time rather than pretending it's instant.
Will you tell me if it's cheaper to start over?
Yes, and we do when it's true. Sometimes salvaging a badly-built codebase costs more than rebuilding the core cleanly. We'll lay out both paths with honest tradeoffs and let you decide — we don't have an incentive to hide the rebuild option.
Can you take over without a big disruption to my users?
If the app is live, keeping it running is part of the plan. We work on a copy, test changes before they go out, and roll updates carefully. We'll scope the specific risk on a free consultation once we've seen the system.
