Replace an Aging Microsoft Access Database

If your business runs on an aging Microsoft Access database that only works on one PC and breaks when two people open it, we modernize it into a secure, multi-user web application without losing your data or your logic.

The problems that push teams off Access

Access served you well, but the limits eventually bite: it wants everyone on the same network, it corrupts under multiple users, it is tied to a specific PC, and the person who built it may be long gone. When the file lives on one machine, that machine is a single point of failure for your whole operation.

We rebuild it as a web application you reach from any browser, with proper multi-user support, real backups, and security that a shared network folder can never provide.

  • True multi-user access without file locking or corruption
  • Reachable from any browser, on any device, in or out of the office
  • Automatic backups instead of a single vulnerable file
  • User accounts, permissions, and an audit trail
  • No more dependence on one PC or one Access version

Migrating without losing your data or your logic

The value in your Access database is not just the data, it is the queries, forms, and rules built up over years. We reverse-engineer that logic and carry it forward, so the new system does what the old one did, only without the fragility.

We move your existing records into a proper database and validate that counts and relationships match, so you can trust the new system on day one.

  • Full export and migration of your existing tables and records
  • Rebuilt forms and reports mapped from your current ones
  • Business rules and calculations preserved and verified
  • Data validation to confirm nothing was dropped in the move
  • A parallel-run period so you can compare old and new before switching

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose the years of data in my Access file?

No. Migrating your data is a core part of the project. We export your tables, load them into the new database, and verify record counts and relationships against the original. The old file stays intact as a fallback until you are confident in the replacement.

The person who built our Access app is gone. Can you still work with it?

Yes. That is a common situation. We open the database, document its tables, queries, and forms, and reconstruct the logic from what is actually there. Undocumented Access apps are exactly the kind we modernize regularly.

Do we have to rebuild everything at once?

Not necessarily. For larger databases we can modernize in phases, moving the most critical or most painful part first and running it alongside Access during the transition. We will recommend the sequence that lowers risk for your team.
